Last Summer I bought a Sunflower, as usual month after month it withered. To experiment I decided to cut the flower and leant it on the pot, then I protected it from Winter with newspapers and a plastic bag...I couldn't believe it, but clening the balcony a couple of week ago I discover that small plants of sunflowers grew from the seeds of the flower.
Crossfingers that they grow up as the flowers in the Polaroid.
La scorsa estate avevo comprato un girasole, ovviamente con il passare dei mesi è seccato. Per fare un esperimento ho deciso di tagliare il fiore ed appoggiarlo nel vaso, quindi protetto dall'inverno il vaso con carta di giornale ed un sacchetto di plastica...Non ci credevo nemmeno io, ma nel ripulire il terrazzo, un paio di settimane fa ho scoperto che erano cresciute le piantine di girasole dai semi che erano custoditi nel fiore.
Speriamo che crescano come quelli nella Polaroid di oggi.

I really would like to have a sideboard like the one in picture, a vintage piece where I can lean on plants and pots. Here in Berlin it is easy to find such a sideboard, but they are quite expensive and we have to start thinking about the moving.
Mi piacerebbe molto avere un mobile in legno come quello nella fotografia, un mobile vintage su cui poter appoggiare piante e vasi. Qui a Berlino si trovano facilmente dei mobili così, ma costano un po' e dobbiamo iniziare a pensare al trasloco.

As usual I am looking for inspirations for the new house, it is already furnished, but I'd like to customize it a bit with details and small changes. I noticed that what attract me more are homes where the main theme is the colour white, maybe I have to follow my instinct...
Come sempre sto crecando ispirazioni per la casa nuova, è già arredata, ma vorrei personalizzarla un pochino con alcuni dettagli e magari anche dei cambiamenti. Mi sono resa conto che le case che attraggono di più la mia attenzione sono quelle il cui tema fondamentale è il bianco, forse dovrei seguire l'istinto...

On the way I go to the office now it is an explosion of colours, in the newxt days I will take some pics. It is so pleasant to bike under the branches full of pink flowers.

growing companions

In those vacation days I spent some time on the balcony, I seeded sunflowers and moved some plants.
Thinking to future I would like to organize well the balcon to let grow something nice and usefull for cooking. In the illustration by Nigel Hawtin for Newscientist there are somesimple instructions on plants that grows well together.
In questi giorni di vacanze ho passato del tempo sul terrazzino, ho seminato dei girasoli e spostato alcune piantine. Pensando al futuro vorrei organizzare bene il terrazzo in modo da fare crescere qualcosa di carino da vedere ma anche di utile in cucina. Nell'illustrazione di Nigel Hawtin per Newscientist ci sono alcune semplici istruzioni su cosa cresca bene insieme e cosa no.

resume of the week

Last week we have been to Italy: we were not going back since two months and I wanted to celebrate my birthday with family too. I have received the biggest present ever from my parents and sister, an iPhone - that I am using a lot to photograph everywhere, by now it will be an appendix on my body, I will update most often the blog with pictures of my days.
In the images of yesterday, morning cleanings and a picnic with friends in the afternoon.
Settimana scorsa siamo stati in Italia: erano due mesi che non tornavamo e volevo festeggiare un pochino il mio compleanno in famiglia. Ho ricevuto un regalone dai miei genitori e sorella, un iPhone - che sto usando moltissimo per fare fotografie ovunque, ormai diventerà un appendice del mio corpo aggiornerò più spesso il blog con immagini delle giornate.
Nelle fotografie c'è la giornata di ieri, al mattino le pulizie, al pomeriggio un picnic tra amici.

I guess I am in a blue moment, checking also last week's post. I really love the match among wood, red bricks, blue coverlet and the green od the plants.
Devo essere in un periodo blu, visto anche il post di settimana scorsa. Mi piace moltissimo l'abbinamento legno, mattoncini, copriletto blu e il verde delle piantine.

In every house what makes the difference are details, something that seems accidental sometimes was studied, moved and remanaged several times, sometimes it is perfectly occasional, but still perfect. Yes I do like details.
The flowers and the statuette of that pictures make the difference and match with the cupboard on the background.
Nelle abitazioni sono i dettagli a fare la differenza, ciò che potrebbe sembrare del tutto casuale a volte è studiato, spostato e rimaneggiato per lungo tempo, altre volte è davvero perfettamente casuale, ma comunque perfetto. Sì mi piaccioni i dettagli.
I fiori e la statuetta di questa immagine sono ciò che fa la differenza in abbinamento alla credenza di sfondo.
