minimalism minimalism
When I started to study industrial design at the university I wasn't into the minimal design. Because I didn't like (you can disagree if you want) Ron Arad and Philippe Stark approach to the concept of minimalism in itself, I have always been in love with a kind of minimal style interpreted as modern mid-century.
At one point I asked myself if it wasn't just a different trend, I guess it is even though sometimes it is explained in a comparable way.
Nowadays I am happier about the interpretation of that new wave of minimalist black and white a bit japanese and back to the functionality mood, because it is a mood and not a trend you must follow and also because it is a mix and match of old and new objects. This gives to everyone the chance to have a very personal style.
If you are looking for different variations of that new minimalism, there are dozens of examples on Pinterest (i.e. homewares by Michelle Halford, interiors bu Ten Things, Architecture and Interior Design by Soo Corner and so on). How do you like it?

Yesterday Andrea bought a Juicer for me! We had a voucher because of returned goods in a home appliance store so...there it is!
Therefore this morning I was looking for nice and healthy recipes to share with you. First of all use the best quality produce you can get, great if it's organic or sustainably grown. If that's not happening, wash it gently, but thoroughly.

Healing cranberry cleanser
2 cups kale, fresh
1 cup water
1 cup cranberries
2 oranges, peeled
2 bananas
Cranberries are an antioxidant powerhouse, so get them fresh during the fall and winter. By drinking this Healing Cranberry Cleanser green smoothie with cranberry, your body will experience the immediate effects of natural energy. Get your healthy dose of vitamin C and fiber in this healing green smoothie! Blend kale and water until smooth. Next add the remaining fruits and blend again.

Peach coconut dream
2 cups spinach, fresh
1 cup coconut water
2 cups grapes
2 peaches
Enjoy this mildly sweet Peach Coconut Dream green smoothie— perfect for those watching their sugar intake. If you want it sweeter— feel free to add a banana, which also adds more potassium. Blend spinach and coconut water until smooth. Next add the remaining fruits and blend again.

Pink lady carrot
1 medium beet
5 large carrots
1 medium sweet potato
This juice is the easiest to make, requiring only three non-leafy ingredients! Blend al the ingredients together.

Pomegranate molasses
4 cups pomegranate juice
1/2 cup sugar
juice of 1 lemon
This is not just a juice.
First of all extract the juice from the pomegranate. Then put all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer on medium heat. Keep stirring once in a while for approximately 1.5 hours until the liquid has reduced by half and has thickened. Allow to cool before storing in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.

I found some interesting recipes on simplegreensmoothies, on 101cookbooks and on sipsandspoonfuls (pics comes from 101cookbooks). Enjoy and let me know if you have any suggestion or recipe!

Lately I am in the mood for indigo and shirts, I bought a cute one at COS and I have another handful in my closet.

I am thinking about painting the kitchen, we have beige cabinets so I deem that kind of light petrol blue would be perfect.

A photo from the archive of Topical Press Agency/Getty Images 15th April 1930: two women playing on their home-made see-saw, on a beach breakwater. It is just an excuse to say that today I am going with some friends and Andrea to spend the night at Gardaland (a fun park close to Verona).

Bring your amigurumi to work friday #byatwf #amigurumi #BYATWF
Every first Friday of the monthe there is a nice initiative by Dennis, a graphic designer and amigurumi artist from the Netherlands (check here). I participate with my new little monkey (on Instagram I am @milktoothrain). Once you take the picture post it on Instagram and tag it with #BYATWF then take a look to all the people who posted something.
