Mid-century modern is a term which indicates an architectural, interior, product and graphic design that generally describes mid-20th century developments in modern design, architecture, and urban development from roughly 1933 to 1965.
One of the cooles example of the architecture of the times are the Eichler Homes, designed by the real estate developer Joseph Eichler in the Los Angeles area and the San Francisco Bay, he was a social visionary and commissioned designs primarily for middle-class Americans. One of his stated aims was to construct inclusive and diverse planned communities, ideally featuring integrated parks and community centers.
There is also a Flickr pool group dedicated to Eichler, check it out for more pictures, they are so charming.
